Abstract

Culture encompasses a broad spectrum of elements including beliefs, rituals, laws, traditions, habitual practices, experiences, and knowledge that individuals acquire within a given society. Cultural disparities can significantly influence the process of translation. However, translators encounter challenges in preserving cultural nuances from the source language within the target text, particularly in legal contexts. This study aims to evaluate the translation of culture-bound legal terminology, drawn from "The Reliable Guide to Legal Translation" authored by Adel Azzam Saqf Al-Hait, alongside other selected legal documents. Juliane House's model (2015) of translation quality assessment will be applied to evaluate the translation accuracy of these terms and to discern the translation strategies employed by translators.
